Can someone recommend an anti depressant drug that doesn't have major adverse side effects?

I've never taken an anti-depressant, but i've heard that many make it so you neither feel happy or sad, also I've been told some cause sexual performance problems. (ie. E.D.).

you really need to speak to a qualified doctor about this, since two people on the same anti depressant can experience varying degrees of the same side effects or in fact different side effects altogether.

I take efexor and it took many years of trying various anti depressants at varying doses before I found one that worked for me and that I suffer little or no side effects with. The only unpleasant side effect happens if I miss a dose.

Wellbutrin has no sexual side effects, according to their commercial.
If you talk to your doctor he or she can tell you about the side effects and steer you in the right direction. Everyone's body is different. I was on Paxil and it has some bad side effects but someone else i know loves it. You have to try them out and see which one works well for you.
unless you've been diagnosed as clinically or situationally dperessed you shouldn't take an antidpressant.. Depending on your age height weight and other characteristics, different meds will effect you differently

Wellbutrin is new nad many say that it doesnt have side effects but I know people who have a lot of weiht gain on it.. not all drugs cause ED and theire are other things you can do to combat these side effects if they do happen

Some other anti dperessants for you to research : prozac, zoloft, paxil, are hte most common three anad you will find lots of information about them

Also not all antidepressants cause that flat affect of feeling neither happy nor sad... It may be a sign that you are not on the correct dosage. Many people have to try several antidepressants before they find one that works.. i hope you feel better soon
I take Lexapro %26amp; love it, but it might have sexual side effects that tapper out after 6 months or a year. I knew a woman on Welbutrin %26amp; she liked that a lot. Go to a doctor %26amp; talk about what you need/want %26amp; they can help. Sometimes it's just trial %26amp; error until you find the right medication.
Trazadone works great and you take it at bedtime so it helps you sleep too. Always see a doctor for a proper diagnosis.
