I've downloaded the most current browsers & still can't access Yahoo Mail Beta. What d

First I tried to dowload IE6 but MS web site said I had most current version. I was using Yaho Mail Beta before. I switched back to check a problem to see if it was caused by the new Beta Software. When I tried to switch back to Yahoo Mail Beta this problem began. I'm sent to a page that says I must have a more current version of browser. I've since downloaded IE 7 (MS sends you to IE 7 to download instead of 6) and I've downloaded Netscapes most current and Mozilloa's most current ver. I haven't been able to find anywhere on Yahoo Help that has answers for me. I hope someone can help me with this.

You need to check if yahoomail is not in your HOSTs fils inorder to do this :

1. search for the file named HOSTS.*

2. There might be couple of files by that name look for the file name lmhosts.*

3 Open it in notepad

4 In this file you will find lines starting with # which represents these lines are commented lines and does not execute.

5. See if at the last of the page you find IP of yahoo or www.mail.yahoo.com listed without # in front.

If that is there then remove it and open the brower again with yahoomail address in it.

Hope this helps.
Don't install IE7 b'coz it will access the web very slow and use mozilla firefox. it will help you
The All New AT%26amp;T Yahoo! Mail will be released in two phases. Beginning April 18, 2006, 30% of the total AT%26amp;T Yahoo! primary accounts and sub accounts that are not under parental controls will be able to switch to the new AT%26amp;T Yahoo! Mail. The rollout will continue with the other 70% in the 2nd phase on May, until all Members that do not have parental controls enabled have the option to use the new version of AT%26amp;T Yahoo! Mail.

You dont need any invites to be able to use the new Yahoo Beta email. You just need to at least meet the system requirements:

*Browsers

IE 5.5 and higher (for Windows)

Firefox 1.0 or higher (for Mac and Windows)

Mozilla Suite 1.7 or higher (for Mac and Windows)

Netscape 7.2 (For Windows)

SBC Yahoo! Browser 3.3

*Operating Systems

Windows 2000, XP

Mac OSX

Entry points for the new AT%26amp;T Yahoo! Mail are the following:

Trap page | Promo Module on the Mail Welcome Page | Link on the Mail Options Page

*Trap Page*

When Members log in to email for the first time after being provisioned with access (30% on April 18) to the new AT%26amp;T Yahoo! Mail.

*Promo module on the Mail Welcome Page*

SBC Yahoo! Members using classic email will see the new AT%26amp;T Yahoo! Mail module on the Mail Welcome page, suggesting a switch to the new AT%26amp;T Yahoo! Mail. The Member needs only to click on the Try it today link to switch to the new AT%26amp;T Yahoo! email - provided they meet minimum system requirements.

*Link on the Mail Options Page*

The Try it now link will be displayed on the Mail Options page only for SBC Yahoo! Members who are provisioned, regardless if the Member has already switched to the new AT%26amp;T Yahoo! Mail. This link will allow the Member to switch to the new AT%26amp;T Yahoo! Mail by directing them to the landing page from which they can access the new Mail version.

Now if you really cant wait to change your email to Beta and you're tired of waiting, then the easiest way to change to Beta is change your location to UK or any other location not US. You can go about this by going to My account and click on Edit and under General preferences, change you Preferred Content to UK or Canada for the moment. When you click finish you are gonna be given a TOS (terms of service), you click accept and then after that you would be asked if you want to try the new Yahoo Beta version then you email away and enjoy Yahoo Beta!

And if you want to switch back to the original "face" of yahoo mail, you simply click on the link that says, Switch Back (in line with Sign Out and My Account links at the top), then you're back to the original. But if you decide to switch back to Beta again, then you simply go to the Options tab (on the upper right corner), there would be a purple button there to Try Yahoo Beta again. This process is reversible and should not affect your email. So don't you worry about losing you emails.=D
