Yahoo Messenger help...PLEASE!?

Hello, please help me with this problem I am having for about 2-3 months. Well, one day my internet connection disconnected for ~2-3 days. I know it sounds weird, but after that IE and Opera stopped working, and Yahoo Messenger(version 8 at that time) too, and the only one that was working was Firefox. I tried re-installing YM, but it didn't work. When i opened the setup file, it took very long until it opened, and after I installed it, i couldn't login. It was showing me the log-in animation, but it wasn't logging in. I managed to download YM 7 that worked, but File Sharing and Photo sharing, didn't work. The most weird part comes now. When I use AOL it changes my IPaddress and i don't know the reason, but when i use it, Opera,IE and YM work great.Today I tried installing the new YM 9,but it didn't work. When I opened AOL,it worked great. And the only way I am able to login is by using AOL.Why? Does YM use some functions of IE? If so, I wonder if I could change them to FireFox. Thanks!

Your Yahoo! Messenger connection information may be incorrect. Follow these steps to configure your connection:

Click the Messenger menu in Yahoo! Messenger and select "Connection Preferences."

Enable the "Firewall with no proxies" option.

Select the correct Internet connection type and country from the pull-down menus.

Click the OK button at the bottom of the window.

Yahoo! Messenger will ask you if you want to sign in again with your new proxy settings. Click the OK button.

Enter your Yahoo! ID and password and click the "Sign In" button.

The above configuration works in most situations. (However, if you connect in this way, you won't be able to use the Voice feature.) If this configuration doesn't work, follow these steps:

Click the Messenger menu in Yahoo! Messenger and select "Connection Preferences."

Enable the "No network detection" option and then click the OK button at the bottom of the window.

Yahoo! Messenger will ask you if you want to sign in again with your new proxy settings. Click the OK button.

Enter your Yahoo! ID and password and click the "Sign In" button.

If neither of the above options work (sorry), you're probably behind a firewall or proxy server that requires you to enter its address. Follow these steps:

Click the Messenger menu in Yahoo! Messenger and select "Connection Preferences."

Enable the "Use proxies" option.

Enter your firewall or proxy server's address and port number. Contact your network administrator (if you're at work), or your Internet service provider (if you're at home) to determine the correct firewall and proxy settings.

Click the OK button at the bottom of the window.

Yahoo! Messenger will ask you if you want to sign in with your new proxy settings. Click the OK button.

Enter your Yahoo! ID and password and click the "Sign In" button.

If you try all of the steps above and Yahoo! Messenger still can't connect, contact your network administrator, Internet Service Provider (ISP), or the person who initially set up your computer to ensure that your firewall and/or proxy settings are correct.
