Why is my computer running so slow lately?

I have an HP Compaq nc6000 laptop and for some odd reason its been VERY slow these past couple days. I get the blue screen of death sometimes and messages like (IE Explorer has encountered some problems. I havent done anything recently and i cleared cookies and history already. Plus I did a virus scan already and detected NOTHING. Can someone PLEASE HELP ME!

If you are running Windows XP, the next easiest step would be to do a system restore. Requirements: This slowdown occurred in the last couple of days and you haven't installed any programs within the last couple of days. If you meet those requirements, go to Start | Programs | Accessories | System Tools | System Restore, Restore your computer to an earlier time, and choose a bold date that is a day or so ahead of when the slowdown occurred. It'll take a little bit of time for it to restore and then it will reboot. The restore won't affect any documents and such that you have BUT you should backup your stuff before you run this step...just in case.

If that doesn't work, or if you don't have XP, then you will need to search for such terms as "Last Known Good Configuration, Anti-spyware programs such as Lavasoft AdAware, and defragging your computer." These are all steps that would address a slow computer. Hope this helps.

reboot your computer or probably u have a virus get rid of the virus
it might be spyware,virus, or that u have used too much disk space...

try going to tools,internet options and delete cookies and files...

if not... then add more ram or delete some space in you Hd
If i were u google defrag ur computer and delete programs that u never use.

how many programs are you running at the same time?

virus?

is your puter updated?
need more memory, and possibly a defrag. norton utilities has a pretty good program to fix windows problems.
reinstall your operating system. it will be just like new. i do it whenever my computer gets crappy and virus software wont fix it. its a pain to do it because you have to back up everything of value. but in the end it's EXTREMELY worth it
re-install OS and stay away from porn sites
