Why is my Internet still not working?

For the past five days, my Internet has not been working on my laptop. I'm connected to a wireless network that I haven't had any problems with before. First, it said there was "limited to no connectivity." I solved that issue and got my connection back fully functioning. However, the 'Net (Firefox, IE, iTunes Music Store, AIM) still would not work. After doing some research I found the reccomendation to update my router's firmware. I just did that last night...still no Internet on my laptop. The other two computer on the network work perfectly fine (As can be witnessed by the fact that I'm on one of them typing out this question). So, what do I do now? What's my next step in getting my access back?

Scan the computer for a virus or browser hijacker.
Update the driver for wireless card. If current reinstall driver. Otherwise card could be going out.
I would try something on the laptop.

1.) Release your current IP address

2.) Renew the IP Address

3.) Ensure that your network connectivity on the wireless signal is excellent or very good

4.) Try seeing if you can get onto the Internet with it.

To release your IP address do the following:

Click on start--Run. Type in cmd. When window opens type in ipconfig - release

To renew your IP address do the following:

Click on start--Run. Type in cmd. When window opens type in ipconfig - renew

You can also go to your network connections and have it show in the bottom right hand side when it is connected.

The only reason I can think of as to why you keep getting dropped it perhaps your routers DHCP is set to low so the machine is being dropped and asking for a new IP address or you have too limited internal IP addresses for the router to assign a new IP.

Hope that helps.
