Can you help me with this annoying problem?

I used to be able to create shortcuts on my desktop that would take me to favorite websites. But, now when I try to create a shortcut to a website and put it on my desktop and click on it, a gray window pops up that asks me to "open", "save" or "cancel", as if it were a file. It's not...it's a URL! I'm running Windows 2000 and IE 6.X. Also, Firefox, but I have the same problem with that ISP.

Boot up the site, then go to file in the left corner of the tool bar go down to send then go down to shortcut to desk top, you will see the icon on the desk top just click on it, it will open.

Try bookmarking the web page or saving it to IE favorites. Computer's get fussy if you have to much stuff on your desktop.
best option is to put in favorites or to bookmark the site(s).
