Genuine Microsoft of fake one!!?

i want to install sql 2005, on runnig the cd, i got a messege that i need "Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1" so i visited ms website.

there they asked me to validate my MS, so i clicked on and after 20 mins, they displayed some code which i passted on website. It told me that

my OS is not genuine!

The problem is that when i downloaded IE 7, i went through same process and at that time it claimed that my OS is genuine.

So how come i got a fake one in onemonths time without doing anything.

i have been watching too much of football b'coz of worldcup ( and i hate what zidane did) maybeMS does not like football.

Please help, i desperately need to install SQL server 2005 very urgently.

If you are using Genuine OS - install it again.

If not then buy one and install.

May be you had been able to pass Microsoft's security checkpoints. Every time it would not allow to do so.

Download the validation tool and see what it tells you

If your copy of windows us genuine..then the same process should work for the windows install
try updating windows to the lastest updates this will cause the problem you have listed. if you cant get that to work try downloading xampp. i believe it will do what you are needing
is your windows an oem installation? if it is you may have only their corperate version of windows. if that is true you will need to go back to micrsoft and use one of the alternate ways of getting as they say 'GENUINE" and a new code key! odd as it may seem , i had the same problem and did the alternate fix.
