Computer Issue: Stuff won't open when clicked on.?

I'm having this problem when I click on icons to open programs such as IE or MSNmessanger it will think for a second and not open but if you go to task manager it will be running as a process that is using up a small amount of memory and you can end up clicking it about 50 times before it will actully open. Does anyone know what caused this and how I can fix it?

First off, run a full system scan in Safe Mode using your Anti-Virus software becaue that sounds like the doings of a virus to me. To do that:

1. Restart your computer

2. When the computer begins to boot, press the F8 key repeatedly until you get a startup menu.

3. Choose Safe Mode.

4. Disable your internet connection by disconnecting your network cable to avoid anymore mischief.

5. Run your AV software.

Remove any infections, if any, and reboot your computer normally.

I have seen this happen as a result of a virus !!!
this is surely some virus or a spyware stuff...

run a virus scan asap.. u can use mcafee antivirus.

for anti spyware, u can use avg antispyware..

they are available for free trial on www.download.com

dont forget to update them b4 the scan.
for internet exporler - try a repair. go to start, setttings, control panel, add/remove, click on microsoft internet explorer, you'll be shown a window to click on for repair. maybe once you repair it, it will work. good luck.

1.Pc is infected with spyware/trojan/viruses.

2.Problems with scripting and direct x.

Check microsoft website to get the latest version of direct x(end user package ,not sdk).

You have to click on tools/internet options/security/custom level.Make sure you got dots on circles for all scripting items,allowing them.

3.Registry problem.The easiest way is to use some registry cleaner/optimizer.

If this happens on all exe files that you try to open then you have to use exefix.You can find it easy on google.
